When I started reading this book, I thought it might be related to a TV series from a few years ago that depicted the end of the male species, which had piqued my curiosity. It turns out I was completely wrong, and pleasantly so. This novel is not connected to the series *Y: The Last Man* but instead explores a devastating pandemic that wipes out 90% of the world's male population.
The story is told entirely in the first person, with 99% of the chapters narrated by women. It covers the pandemic from its onset to its resolution, without rushing through facts or details but also without dragging unnecessarily. I recommend this book to those who enjoy fiction with a scientific touch yet grounded in reality. It’s tough to read at times, but highly instructive, especially in understanding the human character of dozens of women and how they navigated such an overwhelming experience.
Rating: 4.5/5.
