An awesome collection with a diverse range of styles and subjects. Like any anthology, it had weak points, but I'd recommend it for the shelves of any speculative fiction fan. Highlights for me included Chicago 1927 by Jewelle Gomez, Like Daughter by Tananarive Due, At Life's Limits by Kiini Ibura Salaam, The Comet by W.E.B. Du Bois, and the brief but deeply evocative closing essay The Monophobic Response by Octavia Butler.
