Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo

I'm honestly not quite sure what to say about this book except that I went in with low expectations and was still disappointed. It was just boring.

I was expecting some action-packed mission to Hell, but much of the book was Alex and Dawes going around trying and failing to bring back Darlington, then forming a team to try and fail to bring back Darlington. I also hoped for more interactions between him and Alex, but there was none of that either.

SpoilerAlso, the fact that they knew that Tripp may have died or become a vampire and no one took the time to check on him until after they went to Hell didn't feel right to me. I would have expected them to care more about someone who did risk his life for their mission.

Hell Bent seems to have all the worst parts of Ninth House (boring, slow buildup and new facts about the world that seem to come out of nowhere) but none of its mystery or excitement.
