I listened to this on audio and really enjoyed it. Even though the story was slow and very character-based, I really loved hearing about life in Boston in 20's, which is when the bulk of this story takes place. The main character, Addie Baum, was smart, spunky, and stubborn. I enjoyed hearing about her life growing up, her family, her struggles with her mother, and her relationships with her sisters and friends. I never got bored listening to this book.
