when i finished reading red white & royal blue last night, i was so overwhelmed i couldn't form words. that is rare for me.
i also alternated happy crying and not so sad but emotional moment crying the whole night for the last 140 pages. it was eventful to say the least.
this book made me squeal, laugh out loud, and sucked me in with every single word written on this page. i pored over the emails in detail, reread the text conversations in extensive detail, and obsessed over every moment alex and henry had together.
safe to say i loved this book. more than loved it! CONSUMED IT WITH MY ENTIRE SOUL
so earlier i was ranting about i would sell my left nut for a henry pov and then i left a comment about it on a tiktok and GUESS WHAT GUYS THERE'S A FANFICTION FROM HENRY'S POV
i am speedreading that and let me just say: YUMMY

i also really liked the theme of politics in this book. alex is the first son and henry the prince of wales, so the politics aspect is very prominent, i found it super interesting. i like that kinda stuff so i really enjoyed this book.
also, can i just say: i am uncontrablly, 100% in love with alex claremont diaz. he is one of my favourite characters EVER in a book. his personality is just so magnetic. his texting style? CHEFS KISS.
how he can be 100 and 1% himself?? i love him. i love him i love him i want to be his best friend i want to be nora and not only because she is definitely unofficial with june i want to meet alex in real life please i beg omg.
also i for obvious reasons love henry. henry is the most perfect soul in the whole entire world hello i love his character and him and alex him and alex i want love i want to be adored and worshipped and SEND BLOODY EMAILS like the two of them. thanks.
i adored mcquiston's writing style. it just made me so HAPPY. the chapters were so LONG THOUGH BUT I DIDN'T mind it much. but the email and text breaks, and the pacing was just SO GOOD OMG
also all the supporting characters?? I WAS SO MF INVESTED HOLY SHITTAKE MUSHROOMS
everything was just insane. stupendous. crazy. incredible.
i can see WHY THIS IS SUCH A BELOVED BOOKTOK BOOK HELLO
okay sorry done ranting but not really because i am still unwell and will probably forever be unwell.
everytime i think about this book i just start SMILING UNWELL
by the way, return of the jedi is superior. happy endings trump all.
