This book was super ableist. From the repeated use of the word “invalid” to the description of a woman with a severe brain injury as an “egg without a yolk” to the idea that a person who can’t communicate “might be in there somewhere” to the twist at the end, it was not respectful to people with TBI or other mental disabilities. Also FAR too much graphic sex.
