Kids can be cruel! This slowly unravels a ton of secrets held by a group of people connected through a number of ways. Initially they were classmates growing up together trying to work their way through school politics and decide where they wanted to be in the future. In the present, some are still in contact whereas others have tried to move on. Their relationships are complicated at best and the dynamics between them affected by something that happened on a school trip!!

The time capsule type letters are a great idea and I wonder what I might have written iny own had a teacher set that as an assignment years ago. The letters suddenly turning up after years is the instigator for something quite tragic that doesn't make sense to Audrey. I liked reading through each character's letter as Audrey works her way through her suspect list in a bid to make sense of what has happened and why. She's a great character and her own backstory is sad and helps you to understand why she is where she is currently; although I did feel quite frustrated at her lost potential. I realise that I'm an adult looking at her and making judgement so it did help to stop and remember that her decision making was made when she was much younger. The chapters where we are taken back to earlier events are also helpful in putting it all into context too.

I like the complexity of this and how we're pulled from one direction to another before the culprit is finally revealed. There are a lot of secrets so there's a lot to unpick. The final letter we read ties everything up nicely although you can't help but feel sad that it's taken so long for Audrey to finally find her feet.
