Alice in the Country of Hearts, Vol. 3 by QuinRose, Tomo Kimura

3.0

For a good portion of this book I was thinking I might bump it up to 4, but the ending left me rather confused.

There's a lot left that's not entirely explained, and there was too much "we hate each other because we secretly love each other" schtick I'm not sure I like Alice's decision to
Spoilerchoose Blood - especially after he was like "I came all this way for you, what do I care about your situation?" I'm all for bad boys, to a point - but he's just kinda an ass
.

It was also weird that the Joker and Dormouse and some other characters are introduced in the end of Volume 2 (book 4), and yet entirely dropped in this Volume. I guess it was more a way of introducing the sub-series.

And the ending was such a non-ending.

I know that there's a sort of sequel series - but I feel like that's less a spin-off/sequel/whatever and more a continuation.

That said, I liked it enough that I definitely plan on continuing, so there is that...

ETA: So, I've discovered that this seris is based on a game, and in the game you decide who you end up with. This explains *so much*. LOL

Also, the sub-series are sort of AU endings and variations, so they're kind of concurrent, but also kind of separate.

Ah, manga - how you like to break my brain. ;)
