The Martian Chronicles
by Ray Bradbury
Incredible work by Ray Bradbury. This is science fiction, but without the coldness of innovation and of a future or alternate world. Bradbury, with simple yet elegantly flowing prose, brilliantly and fully imagined and constructed the futuristic world of Mars. Yet amidst this strangeness of this planet, the characters and the stories he presented was filled with so much empathy and humanness it felt familiar. In spite of the new setting, Earth men were still the same through and through. I am so at awe at this novel. Really one of my favorite books I've read this year.
