The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse
by Charlie Mackesy
inspiring
lighthearted
relaxing
fast-paced
This is a lovely book - the drawings are beautiful and the conversations of the characters are sweet. There is a sort of otherworldliness to the way the characters are isolated together in a vast empty world. This book doesn’t have to be read all in one go, in fact, I would say it is designed to be dipped into at random. You never know when you might need the advice on each page.
Having said that, I think that the art work here would do well as a series of framed pictures to be enjoyed together, rather than page by page - and I am sure I have seen some of these out and about, so clearly I am not the only one who feels that way.
