In Their Hands by Julia Sykes
5.0
Let me just add onto the trigger warnings, DO NOT READ IN PUBLIC!
Holy hotness I most definitely was not expecting to read what was in store for me.
I love mafia books, so I knew to expect ruthless men, violence and them wanting to attain more power.
The blurb had me intrigued and I was excited about reading the book.
My goodness I got so much more than I bargained for.
It was hot, wicked and downright dirty.
I mostly always love the antihero. The bad boys. So yes Luca and Dante were right up my alley.
Luca is heir apparent to the Vitale Mafia. He’s dangerous, deadly and sexy as sin.
He will use anything and everything possible to keep his birthright.
Dante is the top capo of the Vitale family. The man is without mercy, conniving and a downright sadist. His evil is shrouded in one hot man with mesmerizing green eyes.
Then there is poor Nora. The daughter of the consigliere to the same mafia family.
She just got caught up in the middle of these two enemies by her own fathers hand.
Nora has always been sheltered. But also abused. She’s weary of men in power and absolutely doesn’t trust them.
Now she finds herself in a situation so far beyond her control, in an unimaginable nightmare.
The story is intense and gripping. It was thrilling and dark.
I wanted to read as fast as I could to get to the next page. But also wanting to digest the scenarios I was reading.
Oh my goodness it was hot, depraved, raw and gritty and did I mention HOT!
Nora on some level subconsciously, I think, is attracted to both men. She may despise herself for it and not understand it. But I think it’s there deep in her soul. She can be deadly afraid and scared but that doesn’t negate the attraction and pull she has for them.
And our wicked bad boys are most definitely attracted to Nora. Their lust and their passion for her is a palpable thing coming to life off the pages. And the delicious dirty things they do to her are a read alone type of situation or be truly embarrassed as your face flushes the deepest shade of red in the presence of company
