I loved this until I was about 3/4 of the way done. The exploration of butch-femme dynamics and lesbian characters that felt truly authentic really drew me in. It completely lost me in the third act though, where the events that happen just seem absurd. Perhaps I just didn’t get what the author was trying to say, but I didn’t feel like she was saying much of anything at the end. I’m also not a huge fan of the unlikeable protagonist, and to be honest I’m not entirely sure she was intended to be unlikeable.
