The Submissive is the first book in the submissive series and this is a series that I have really been wanting to read and it's been on my TBR for years! I finally grabbed this one up here and I am so thrilled that I did because it was such a solid BDSM romance. And this book just really handles so much of the BDSM elements so well. Which comes to no surprise if you have read this author before. This story starts out very intensely sexual, there is such strong vibes that connect these two. I really liked the backstory to their connection and how them meeting and having a dom/sub relationship is not by chance. I really loved both the characters and seeing their relationship grow and some of these scenes that they are in, are just perfection and really build upon their relationship but there are also times when we see them outside and really connect outside of being a dom/sub to each other, where they are just sweet lovers and friends. I was captivated by their romance and seeing their character growth. We get some challenges that they need to overcome, as Nathaniel has some personal demons that he needs to overcome, as he doesn't let himself become emotionally invested. But seeing the way that Abby really pushes him to open himself up to emotion and love was one of my favorite aspects to her character. She has such strength and courage to stand for what she deserves in the relationship. I truly found The Submissive to be such a strong beginning to the series and will set the stage for books next in the series.
