A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas

5.0

I can't believe I finished the series (well, as far as it currently goes!) I will be waiting desperately until SJM writes another because these books completely live up to their hype.

Silver Flames was no exception to this hype. I know some people do not like it nearly as much as the other books, but it is now one of my favorites, only falling behind ACOMAF. How could you not love a book centered on Cassian and Nesta? Okay, I know how: if you are a Nesta hater. That being said, if you are a Nesta hater, then move on along because she is just another disgruntled character in need of people to show her how much she is truly valued and I love her!

Maybe stop reading here if you don't want spoilers!!!!!!

First, how could you not love the relationship between Cassian and Nesta??? It was the perfect amount of slow burn because of her stubbornness into a nice little FWB trope and finally into the true love that we were all waiting for her to discover. Also, holy smut lollll. Second, I really liked that she developed her own found family because no matter how badly she treated her family, they also were not perfect to her (don't even get me started on how annoying Rhys and Feyre were in this book - which quite literally pains me to say) and she deserved to find the people right for her. I loved the 'quest' that Nesta had to go on in this story and watching her character development. I particularly liked that it was not just another war book but rather one centered on her development in the Night Court. It was kind of repetitive with her training the entire book, yet I never got bored, and I really liked the last 100 pages being centered around the Blood Rite.

The only thing that made me kind of upset about this book is that Nesta didn't win the Blood Rite. I KNOW that the whole point was that she was choosing to save those she loved rather than win and that she didn't need to prove to anyone that she could win, but I still think after all she went through, she DESERVED that win. That was the only thing I wish had gone differently, though, so I digress. I am patiently awaiting the Eris redemption arc that we all know is coming and for Azriel to finally get to be with someone he loves because that boy deserves it.

I love you ACOTAR!!! Please be back soon!!!!
