The Art of Frugal Hedonism: A Guide to Spending Less While Enjoying Everything More
by Adam Grubb, Annie Raser-Rowland
DID NOT FINISH: 70%
The frugal hedonism tips were great*, outside of the fact that the authors assume everyone has access to green spaces, particularly green spaces that grow edible items, and that it is legal and safe for folks to pick these edible items. Their fat phobia was so intense every few pages and towards the end they associated autism with a lack of bacterial diversity as if autism is something to be avoided. This book is so clearly written for middle class white folks who live in communities that invest in public infrastructure with minimal police presence and free childcare (most people cannot afford to just buy fewer things, that is so painfully missing the point).
Graphic: Body shaming, Fatphobia, Classism
Moderate: Ableism, Alcohol
