Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury

3.0

I was excited to read this book, being that it’s a classic and all. But I was disappointed. It’s not a bad book but it is definitely not worth the hype. The message that the book sends to the audience is more interesting as a concept than the actual story here. The writing style is not good imo. He writes in metaphors that are confusing 90% of the time and it is extremely short.

Overall, I love the message of disassociation with media and society becoming antisocial and the presentation of information corrupting our society in the future. It’s a very interesting concept. But I think it wasn’t done very well. I think reading this when it came out over 60 years ago, it would be a 5 star, but unfortunately it doesn’t hold up as well currently. Still a decent read. 3.0 out of 5 stars
