All-in-all, Tarah DeWitt's Funny Feelings was a light-hearted rom-com that I somewhat enjoyed. Farley (Fee) is an up-and-coming comedian, trying to get her big break when she stumbled on Meyer Harrigan, a well-known comedian who is taking a break from the spotlight to raise a child - and constantly talking about how good therapy is, which I loved. She does a show, and he decides to help her and later becomes her manager. They become fast friends, and the novel dives into the perceived unrequited love from both sides.

This novel did brush up against that frustrating line between a quirky and carefree woman and a downright immature and childish one. I think it managed to stay on the side of quirky, but there were a few times when I was nervous it would move. A warning: the miscommunication and relationship anxiety is QUITE pronounced in this book, and while I get it, sometimes it's hard to read. But I do think it stayed relatable. Additionally, the miscommunication, I guess, semi-worked with this book because so many factors played into this relationship: a single dad with a tough backstory, a friendship, an age gap, and a professional relationship. With that said, even as a fellow sensitive human being who understood Fee's quite chaotic mind, I must admit that I still rolled my eyes a few times.

It was a fun read, and I laughed out loud in some parts. A notable line for me: Meyer boldly stated as he is searching for food in Fee's kitchen, in a hungry state: "Aha. Yyyes, f*ck me up with some mozzarella." Nothing in a book has been so relatable to me. However, in another part of the book (without spoiling anything), the tattoo teetered on the edge of too weird for me.

Lastly, and honestly, one of my favorite things about this book was the dedication and author's note in the beginning. Cheers to the women who are just a bit Too Much :) With that said, I can't say this book blew me away. The ending kind of faltered, and I didn't necessarily enjoy the rushed tension near the end, but I didn't expect much in the book, and it delivered decently well.
