I went into this mostly blind so maybe this is on me… but this book was not for me. Sure it was dark and smutty but based on how people talk about it I expected it to be darker and for the smut or at least the story to be incredibly well-written. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel like that’s what I got. Again, could be totally on me for going in blind. Usually I DNF books that I clearly don’t vibe with, but I was so convinced there was something I was missing to make everyone go wild for this read that I saw it through to the end. I never found what I was missing.
