DNF at 12%. I am so tired of this writing style from various authors: (made-up quote example) “He rather liked the presumptuous idea that this unlikely event would inspire a kind of dilly-dallying from a group of mindless youths …” That type of thing. Why is everything so obviously British in a world where Britain did not exist yet? It was too flowery, meandering, and uninteresting. So disappointed, especially considering the mostly positive reviews.
