A charming novel of a man reflecting on his life and the people who have shaped him. Maurice Hannigan sits at a hotel bar and toasts 5 of the people in his life who have most influenced him. Written in the Irish vernacular, it is funny, sad and realistic. Maurice reviews his life from childhood to old age and along the way reveals secrets , misunderstandings and choices made and the consequences they had.
