The Quiet Librarian by Allen Eskens
5.0
dark emotional informative mysterious reflective tense fast-paced

After reading all of Allen Eskens other books I was taken by surprise by this one. I went in blind and definitely wasn’t expecting a historical fiction about Bosnia at all! It ended up being really well done and I learned about something I knew very little about. He wove the story between the time lines well and told the story in a way that really painted a picture of the time. He didn’t gloss over the hard stuff but it also wasn’t so detailed as to be highly disturbing to sensitive individuals. Is always nice to read about a strong woman too. He definitely is one of my favorite authors.
