I was so thrilled to read a book that had strong, healthy relationships between sisters. They feel very accurate to living with sisters, and it's clear how much they love (and annoy the ever living sht out of!) each other.

I was in love with the world, and the magic powers the sisters possessed. I liked their father who is also a good father to his daughters. I loved the way that they were trained, and how they were expected to recognize their privileges'. I liked the way the book was written and how it all flowed together. The philosophy the family had as a whole really intrigued me!

The romance built naturally and watching Lark and Darius become friends and develop feelings was genuinely precious. Learning how Lark and her sisters' magic worked was interesting, and I loved that they were loosely based on the muses. There is absolutely magic in song, dance, and music!

The book had enough action to keep the tension up, but it wasn't an intense read. Reading this book felt like being wrapped up in a warm blanket and being told a fairytale.

Also Achak was such a fascinating character! I absolutely loved them.
