The Fish by Joanne Stubbs

dark sad slow-paced

3.0

I loved the idea of this book but since the summary made it sound apocalyptic, I expected a big scale view of the very "fishy" event. I mean, there was a storm and fish got washed up in the sea but then the fish didn't leave and started walking in land, breathing just fine. The bad thing is they also carry neurotoxins which infects people with flu-like disease. With that kind of plot, I looked forward on how this will impact the world as a whole. What would happen to trading, will there be impact on ships, what would they do with fishermen who lost their living, will the fish evolve, how about a whale walking, what will we do about that? Instead, the book focused on 3 sets of characters and on how they reacted to the fish invading the land. Thats it.
