The Lost Princess by Connie Glynn

4.0

A thrilling continuation of the Rosewood Chronicles, developing the characters in ways that are beautifully impactful on plot, rather than just leaving them separate like in so many other series where the characters are the plot. In this, they are both connected and separate. Connected to each other in aspects and impacting the other. Nothing feels unnecessary or out of place and the setting and proper japanese language used make you feel wonderfully immersed in the world, taking in the new environment as Lottie and the others do.

I've now reread this book 7 times and I'm still realising new foreshadowing moments or things that are rewarded from previous books in the series. I love this series so much and my only wish is that we got to see more of Ellie, as it felt slightly as though she was a stand by in this book, she wasn't entirely plot relevant and I wish I got to see her struggle include more than "It's all my fault".
