Most reviews that give this book a low rating all say the same thing: this book is about rape, this book is about abuse, this book is 'not okay'. I find these reviews to be a little overdramatic. Just because a book revolves around dark topics does not demean its story. Yes, in real life rape and abuse is disgusting and should never happen. But books, on the other hand, are usually meant to tell a story that no one has read before, that is interesting and captivating (no pun intended). I loved reading about Livvie and Caleb, despite what he did to her. I loved reading both Livvie and Caleb's side of the story. I loved finding out there was a second novel because I wanted to read more. Keep an open mind while reading this book. Understand the difference between reality and fantasy.
