Ok read

I'm on the the fence with this one. So first let me start with what I liked. I like the storyline itself. The writing is well done. I like Isla and her guardians. I even like Rian and Matt. It was frustrating with the continued language barrier between Isla and her guardians but I found this part of the story realistic as well, if that makes sense.

My biggest issue was Alistair. To me he is an unlikable character. I disliked him in book 1 and this book just made it worse. He's weak, dependent, completely selfish and even with his mates and his slap in the face realizations he doesn't have a redeeming quality. I mean he worships Isla, but it's unhealthy and he would throw her over if it was more convenient. Even though she's always defended him and basically keeps a roof over his head.

I'm still going to pick up book 3 because, as I said, I like the premise and world building so I'm curious as to how it's going to end. Honestly though it would have been better if Alistair and Isla hadn't shared mates but we'll see how that works out.
