This was suspenseful, great imagery, and I love novels from multiple points of view and periods of time. However, this read like the author has some kind of vendetta against UGA. This story could have been set at literally any university in the world and it wouldn't have made a dollop of difference to the storyline. And other than the specific references to street names and areas of campus, the background of the scenery is really a university built on and still steeped in racism. It distracted from the plot vs enriching it, and whether or not those arguments are valid, by throwing them in as barbs at the university in the book make it read like she (the author, not the main character) has something against the school itself and cheapens what may be valid points. Otherwise, I mean, she lives in Nashville, why not set it at Vanderbilt?

Anyway, I didn't realize this was a sequel when I started it and I do plan to read the first book, but I needed to vent about that. It was just weird.

Also, the last chapter was confusing and I had to go back and reread some of it. It sounded at first like it was about something Graves had done, not about Spencer, so I thought I must have missed something. Great ending overall, but the way it was written was misleading and not in a plot twist kind of way.
