Normally, I do not write reviews on this website for fear that I am not as prolific and linguistically talented as most of the reviews I read under books I look to purchase. However, to not conjure up a review of this masterpiece would be a blasphemous act. When I began reading Cloud Atlas, I found myself continuously thinking, "Huh???" pretty consistently. In a new resolution to push through things I don't immediately comprehend, I kept reading; and I sure am glad that I did so. At the end of the book, I knew that David Mitchell was a genius who, like a character in the book, would live through his masterpiece for a long time to come. I have never found myself so enthralled in a book and so excited to read it. The combination of six stories is confusing and unnatural at first, but to read this book is a blessing all should consider. Amazing read, my new favorite book of all time.
