Cinder by Marissa Meyer

4.0

I really enjoyed this book. It was unlike anything I have ever read before. I never would have imagined Cinderella as a cyborg, and yet, it fits so well. I really liked the aspect of her being a cyborg because I always thought disney princesses were too perfect. They have unrealistic features, they sing about their troubles and don't do anything to help make them better, and they just wait for a prince to save them. I liked how in this book, cinder wasn't perfect, she didn't wait for a prince to save her, she saved herself. The wise words of Sirius Black say: “we must all make a choice between what is right and what is easy”. Cinder is not afraid to do what is right even if it is hard and that is what made me love the character. I think Marissa Meyer did a wonderful job making this character have these traits and that is one of the main reasons I loved this book. I don't have much negative feedback about this book. The one thing I can say is that the ending felt a bit rushed. I think Marissa Meyer should have taken a bit more time to divulge the ending because of the huge plot twist. I thought the plot twist was brilliant but I was so confused because everything was happening so fast I hardly caught it. I could go on and on about this book is. It was a wonderful story and I loved submerging myself into the world of Cinder!
