The Wide Wide Sea: Imperial Ambition, First Contact and the Fateful Final Voyage of Captain James Cook by Hampton Sides

adventurous challenging emotional informative medium-paced

4.5

Absolutely fascinating look at the the complex man that was James Cook. Sides does a magnificent job putting the man in context of his own history, his era, and the situation that led to his brutal end. Great biography as well as an excellent look at the Age of Exploration in general. Eminently readable.
