It took me a while to read Lauren Asher’s books, despite have Throttled sitting in my shelf for a while. It wasn’t until I read Love Redesigned that I decided to read the rest of her books. The Fine Print was a bit underwhelming for me. I think it’s because it seemed like details were missing and certain moments that should’ve lasted longer were quickly addressed.

Zahra wasn’t my favorite FMC either. She was a bit annoying at times. I liked Rowan. I thought his snark and coldness was done well and helped show some of his social awkwardness. I wished we had more small moments to see Zahra melt his ice. They had their cute kiss for a secret game, but when it came to Rowan admitting his emotional trauma it felt like his character wasn’t developed enough to say those things at that particular moment in the story. I also felt like Rowan and Zahra were constantly making internal remarks about the other’s body, and I didn’t particularly like that. Obviously they’re going to check each other out, and those moments are totally fine, it just seemed like it happened a lot in this book. It also seemed like it would come out of no where. I think there was a scene with Rowan where he was annoyed with Zahra and then the next paragraph he started checking her out.

Overall, I was underwhelmed by this one. I don’t think that has to do with the social media hype since I read this after all of that. It’s still a fun read though.
