The all of it
by Jeannette Haien
I am still thinking about this book. It appears to be about an Irish priest and his reaction to two things. First, the death of a parishioner and second, his opportunity to fish the last day of the salmon season.
I am not sure I understand why these are the two things that Haien sees as worthy of a story. Yes, some unexpected events are told through these two stories. But how are they related? Why are these tales important? Do they tell us something about the priest himself? About the church?
I just don't know what I think of the story. I really liked the language, the setting and what I learned. It has certainly stuck with me.
