I want to take a listen to this book on audible, because I have binged watch the whole entire Bridgerton series when it came out, so why not try the books. I wanted to read the books before the third season came out. The book did keep me interested in hooked, and it was a medium pace. There were some aspects of the book that was not included in the first season, but if it was added, it really wouldn’t make a difference.
There was a conflict in the story that was also in the series. When it was addressed in the series, it wasn’t made to be a big deal or maybe it was. But when, listening to it in the actual book, it kinda made me realize how wrong the main character was to do what she did no matter how much she desired the outcome. It was a boundary cross on her behalf. And her reason to be mad prior was valid but she still shouldn’t have done what she did.
Overall I did really like the book and enjoyed the second epilogue in the end. I guess it’s time for book 2!

Graphic: Vomit, Rape, Sexual content, Sexual assault, and Pregnancy
Minor: Child abuse
There is mentions of neglect and verbal abuse in a character’s backstory (Simon Basset The Duke of Hastings) His father called him stupid and an idiot due to Simon’s speech delay and stutter. He then proceeds to not claim him as his son, not visit or write to him and say he is dead There is a small scene of a duel but nothing serious. Just skip chapter 18 (trigger warning in this chapter)
