Gender Euphoria by Laura Kate Dale

4.0

This is a wonderful essay anthology seeking to approach transness through the lens of gender euphoria (as opposed to gender dysphoria), meaning that it focuses on the euphoria that comes with being recognised as, or recognising yourself as, your gender identity. Euphoria just like dysphoria is a an experience that's quite individual and the various perspectives. I loved that there was an intersex author included, since, at least from my experience, intersex people are often overlooked in queer spaces. Some of the essays were stronger than others, as I tend to expect from collections like these, but none were poorly written and each one managed to at least make me go "oh that's interesting". Would recommend if you're sick of transness being framed solely as the result of dysphoria.
