One of my favorite authors doing one of my favorite tropes. Marriage of convenience is never going to get old with me. I know they're going to fall in love but I want to know how and when and who is going to say it first????
I loved the heroine. I loved her stubborn courage, her faith in the power of love and the need for family, her restrained elegance, and her willingness to admit to a mistake. I love her integrity. And she was so good for him, to call him on his crap and give him the strength and opportunity to fix the mistakes he had made and the courage to deal with the fallout from his past actions. She made him want to be better. A very simple, very elegant, very refined story of romance and love. It's almost twenty years old, but still beautiful.
