Oh man. This was a hard one to DNF. It was a book that I had been looking forward to for so long. And it is one of those cases that I wish that I had picked it up immediately when I was approved for, because maybe I would have been a little more lenient with it. Meaning, I may have had the patience to finish this. This truly is a case of there’s nothing wrong with this book, it’s just me. The writing, while beautiful and vivid, was just not for me. The writing made the pacing feel slow for me. And right now I just want the action, I want battles or something more than what this book is offering  Had I read it earlier, I may have stuck it out and at least finished it. But, honestly, I don’t think this would have been a book that would have made it to my favorites list. The idea of the story fascinates me and my friend Arlene’s description of it makes me want to like it, but not right now. Is there a chance that I will circle back and try this one again? Absolutely because I really REALLY want to like it.
