Wow. This duology alone proves that Bardugo improved tremendously as a writer and had an editor that strengthened her work as well. The morally grey band of misfits are back and the emotion in this one runs high- not to mention thankfully more backstory on the majority of the Crows. I did like the fact that
Kaz’s ptsd as well as Inej’s were not written as a punch line but a true experience that takes years to recover from. I also enjoyed the slow process of the two of them trying to imagine what it would be like to be together but not instant love or instant ship.
Overall, great read that was worth picking up. I think my only gripe would be the amount of times the word denizens pops up in this book. We get it, the word citizens was take . lol
