I Was Told It Would Get Easier by Abbi Waxman
4.0
4 stars for the breezy mother-daughter story. Abbi Waxman is a go-to author for me now after I read The Bookish Life of Nina Hill last year. Although I didn’t love this book a such as Nina Hill, it was a heartwarming story about mothers and daughters, and the ups and downs of parents and their teenage children. I liked that the story is told simultaneously through both Jessica and Emily’s perspective. It shows just how much can be lost in translation when communicating with someone close to you. The story was fun and breezy yet heartfelt at how much the Jessica and Emily loved each other even though they didn’t always see eye to eye. Great summer read!
