First of all, I would like to thank the author for the e-ARC copy of this book!

I won't lie; this moved me to tears. This book is absolutely phenomenal - from its writing to the characters to heck even its design. I loved Maya and Lorenne's story so much but my favourite character was, without a doubt, Valdez - and I'm so happy with what I read in that bonus chapter at the end because honestly, he didn't deserve what he went through and I will never forgive his father for that.

While this wasn't how I thought this book would go, the author found an amazing way to twist mythology and make it their own and along the way they made me fall in love with every single word in it. And while at first, I was mad because I wanted more of this, now I've come to realise that this was more than enough. That Maya and Lorenne's story isn't complete yet but they're happy and together and that's exactly what they deserve.

I definitely recommend it to everyone - my favourite read of 2021!
