ONE PERFECT COUPLE will be one perfect summer read! I’ve been noticing a trend of reality show tropes in the thriller arena. And just like reality shows, you know what you’re getting with this one - a fun, entertaining good time. All guilt*less* pleasure.

After Lyla’s boyfriend convinces her to enter a competition reality show, she finds herself on a paradise island with a cast of other couples. Things immediately start to go wrong and with no phones, no contact with the outside world and dwindling supplies, the group has to work together to survive.

Don’t expect a twisty ride or lots of surprises. This is less a story of whodunnit and more a story of howdunnit, whydunnit and are you going to dunnit????? There were quite a few characters but since everything stays pretty surface level (except for perhaps Lyla’s POV), it was pretty easy to keep track of everyone. Suspense slowly builds up to a captivating end. This was an immersive and entertaining read. All I needed was a margarita and a lounger to complete the package. [pub date: May 21] 4/5
