A Thousand Heartbeats
by Kiera Cass
KIERA CASS YOUVE NEVER LET ME DOWN AND I MEAN THAT
Now that I've had a day or so to ponder over this book I can confidently conclude that I think this book deserves 6 stars. It's exactly what I needed to read to be honest. It's an enemies to lovers where the girl knows how to wield a sword and the guy cries when his pet fox dies. It was just like exactly what I expected from a 600 page book written by Kiera and I wouldn't ask for anything more. This book had me kicking my feet and giggling and it's the first book in a while where all my annotations were about quotes I liked and not quotes that made me want to d!e. HE WAS THE BOY WITH THE APPLE AND SHE WAS THE GIRL ON THE HORSE!!! IDK I CRIED!!!!!! And I knowwwwwwww that epilogues, where they get married and have kids, are cliche and not very forward and modern but gosh darn it they make me happy!!!!!!!!! this book is the equivalent of a 95 minute trashy romcom with a few good quotes and a male love interest that made me swoonnnn. It was written like it was made in the 90s and kiera definitely thought she was making a statement with the quote "Lennox insisted that they teach their children about her games, about how to hunt and gather the most painted rocks around the palace. Annika insisted upon teaching them his dances, about lacing together hands and spinning until they were dizzy" like oh wowowowowo reversing the gender roles how quaint but I don't Care. Loved this book and I would read it again in a heartbeat.
reread: OKAY FINE IT WASNT WORTH FIVE STARS BUT IT WAS STILL A REALLY GOOD BOOK GOSH.
