The representation in this book is great. The history it talks about is really important.
But I didn't like this book.
I hate how Jade had to do a huge apology at the end for her VERY understandable reaction to being lied to for 10 years by 2 of the closest people to her. Jade and Jonah were real and understandable and their growth felt good to me.
But I absolutely do not think Jade should have had to grovel to Nia. No thanks!
The last act of this book took it down from an 'okay' book for me to something I actively disliked. I would have dnf'd if not for a book club.
