3 3/4 stars? I enjoyed this a lot. There were some logic flaws that bugged me a little because they wouldn't have been hard to weave into the woodwork, but it is nice to read a believable smart but totally uneducated hero's voice. I was really kind of annoyed that the female characters, though in positions of authority, didn't get to DO much at all. Only the boys got to have adventures. That sucks. But Rowan sounds like she could be fun.

Disability tag for Nevery's use of a cane. That also irked me, as people who need a cane cannot be expected to out-*run* their pursuers. /experience
