Ever since we met Scottie (aka Gabriel Scott) in Idol, I was curious about him and wanted to know his story. I was definitely not disappointed! This book was full of witty banter, intense chemistry, and powerful emotion. I loved every moment, and couldn’t get enough of Scottie and Sophie.

“Shit on a toothpick. I cannot be crushing on this dude. He’s a dick. A hot dick, but still.”

It all starts out when Sophie and Gabriel are seated together on an overseas flight, much to his chagrin. Let the fun begin! The first part of the book is a complete delight as they conduct a verbal volley of assaults meant to disarm each other. I loved it! It really sucked me in and I couldn’t wait to see how this was going to evolve once they got off the plane.

“I want to shut her up with my mouth. Take. And take. And take. Lick up her words, drink in her laughter. I can’t. I won’t.”

Gabriel is such a reticent man, with walls he hides behind to protect himself. Sophie chips away at those walls at every turn, and the real man underneath begins to emerge. She is the perfect opposite to him in every way, and just the one to get under his skin. Their dynamic with one another was heartwarming and the slow burn was perfect for their story.

This series is a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to get the other band members’ stories. The boys’ relationship with each other is so familial and I love the way they torture and support each other in equal measure. Kristen’s characters never fail to draw me in and leave me with a smile on my face.
