Lover Enshrined by J.R. Ward
3.0

Ok, so this was not one of my favorites. Phury never really interested me all that much, except I was hoping to learn more about his relationship with Z. So, I really enjoyed the arguments and backstory on the two of them. How they saw each other and their lives, and what they meant to each other. I felt Z did exactly what he needed to do to get Phury the help he needed, as did the Brother's. Only one person can choose to get clean, and that is the person with the addiction. As far as his story went, this was the most I got from it. I am happy that he is making changes for the Chosen. But the Phury/Cormia relationship was very poorly done. Another case of the "I love you" just for the simple reason that they do. They barely interacted with each other until the very end of the book.

This doesn't mean that I don't like Cormia, because I actually felt like she was a great character. Actually showed growth and change for one of the females. Strong yet fragile at the same time. Loved her interactions with John Matthew!

What got me through the book(for the first time!) was the side stories. John Matthew, Quinn & Blay...LOVE. I just love their relationship. The entire scene when Quinn goes after Lash because of what he does to John...so well done. The repercussions for that were horrifying, yet really amazing. Truly brought the boys together, and found a real home for Quinn. Loved the way the King found a way to make it right, and I think Quinn's role is perfect for him. Both scenes between him and Blay were heartbreaking...for different reasons. The first when he was so cruel to Blay and then the second. That kiss, god it made me want them to get together so much!

Tohr, finally back! I know that it won't be an easy road but I hope the he and JM will be able to work through their issues. Xhex, I can't wait for her and JM to get together. Rehv, so ready for his book.

The best part of the book - the end scene of Z singing to Phury. Him and the brother's coming to Phury to ask him to come home to see Nalla. So moving. I honestly feel like Zsadist has some of the most emotionally moving scenes in the series.
