Love a historical adventure, and it doesn't get much better than this one. It's rare that you get such a raw look into the minds of the individuals involved in an ordeal like this, but Lansing's use of the expedition members' diaries throughout familiarizes you with the men involved and their shifting outlooks as time went on. Incredible story about extraordinary men surviving against all odds.
