rexpostfacto 's review for:
Sharks in the Time of Saviors
by Kawai Strong Washburn
My biggest critique for this book is that it was wordy at times. The prose was lovely but sometimes it went on for longer than it needed, I think.
That said, this book tugged at my heartstrings in a major way. The alternating narration allowed me to really feel for each person and their experiences, and put that in perspective when we see them through others eyes.
CW: death/loss, grief, colonialism/imperialism, poverty, drug abuse, sexual assault (mention)
