To Kill a Shadow by Katherine Quinn
5.0

I was so excited to read To Kill a Shadow by Katherine Quinn after seeing the ARC reviews and the blurb. After starting it I was hooked, I was trying to get to halfway before stopping but ended up reading cover to cover. I could not stop! This book was one of my favorite reads of the year.

I just loved how the main characters Kiera doesn’t start off frail and unknown of her strength. I adored her being a strong hard headed woman from the moment you get introduced to her. She’s so sassy, doesn’t think before she speaks and is not afraid to just say what’s on her mind. While she starts strong that doesn’t mean there wasn’t room for character development which I think the author did so well.

The world itself felt unique and the magic also! It was a nice refreshing experience and felt new! For being YA it had enough action to keep you interested, such an engaging story.

Yes there is romance, yes it’s slow burn. There is no spice to this but it’s steamy! Commander Jude (the Hand of Death) is just *chefs kiss* a shadow daddy.

Did this book meet my expectations? Yes.
Would I recommend this book? Yes , I have already told everyone at work about it.
Will I buy anything this author writes? After this most probably. I can’t get enough.
