first off, my copy was perfect for annotating: floppy with pages thick enough that my pen didn't bleed through.
i loved the little letters in the books between chapters. it met my expectations, it just didn't sweep me off my feet. but i still liked it very much. this book reminded me that grief is all consuming. that sometimes the only thing you can do is keep waking up everyday.
the love story itself was short but it didn't feel like something was missing. i absolutely loved the little lesbian representation we got (martin's mums).
i enjoyed reading this book very much.
  • on second thought, while i still liked the book very much, i feel like the love story had more potential so maybe i would have liked more pages so that it could develop a little more(?). it didn't feel rushed but maybe what was missing was a couple more chapters.
