First, I was going to give this book 2 stars. It moved very slowly, and I could see no growth in the characters happening whatsoever! I kept thinking to myself, “How is the author going to drag this into a three book series?“
About 30% into the book, things started to move and then I could not put it down from there!
Katie, Collin, and Ian’s adventures continue right where book 1 left off, but this book included a major plot twist. “Oh! What a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive” seems to come to mind.
If you have an interest in the history of the Scottish highlands, post-Culloden Moor, then you will enjoy the series. The author has been very meticulous in her research.
